Lives

Lives

A Poem by humbleServant

Lives are for spending
slowly, deliberately,
and open to inspiration.
A willingness to relinquish
what you thought, and releasing outcomes
is always a helpful attitude as well.
Lives have joy and pain
we need not joyfully embrace pain
but we will do well to stop running from it
and even, when we can,
give thanks for another opportunity to
manifest maturity or even small degrees of improvement
in our handling of these less than desirable parts of life.
Uncertainty, and acknowledging our powerlessness over most of this life,
can actually be freeing and empowering.
