He Really Did Love Me

He Really Did Love Me

A Poem by Asya Kardzhaliyska
"

A short poem about a conversation I had with a friend when the conversation turned to our exes and regrets

"

He Loved Me a Lot

he loved me a lot”

you said as you searched the bottom of a bottle

for your desperate answers

he really did love me a lot”

you told me as you scraped the razors across your skin

he loved a lot”

you whispered to yourself,

late at night"as the tears and trembling rocked through you

he loved me a lot”

you chose to type those words to someone behind a screen,

feeding the ghost of him with your lies and delusions

he really did love me a lot”

then where is he?

"Feeding the ghost of him"
Man oh man can I relate. The emotion shines through and the pain is felt. Excellent job.

Love's mysterious. It doesn't ev'n know what to know, and what to not; who to make love with, and to whom to not. Kinda very deep, and heartfelt poetry you've come up with. Well written around!

Thank you so much!
A very true question that I think many people are afraid to answer. Good read.
