Ode to Musing

Ode to Musing

A Poem by Honestly, Abe

Muse             I make my home
Settling myself around you
In a purple stone bowl-
It fills faster than I can photograph
A distinct moment and
I lord over a breathless page
Without a lack of appetite
Building walls to smother you
Clutching you to my breast
Like an old grandfather
I beg you to empty the bowl
(Or to simply stop the flow please
Please, just for one moment)
Some kinds of mastery are confounding
To even the fullest gods and
I’m bursting with bruises
From digging my way home

Behind the eyes of Hades
Are my eyes.
