I am a King

I am a King

A Poem by Kenneth Stephen Goodpaster

The observing eyes of celestial's
Constantly noting my dark endeavors,
Inputting my thoughts lacking rationales.
Their abundance of silver-white feathers.

Oh, they lack desire to harm,
Just to be the maker’s eyes and ears,
But I am not fooled by careful false charm,
Their innermost agendas bring me fears.

I must shield my thoughts and hide my actions,
Or at least until their plot I unearth.
Simple means to deter uneasy reactions,
Hushing those with scales to measure soul’s worth.

The ethical merit may be lacking,
But they treasure the red thoughts of a king.

This is based off an actual paranoid fear I have. The painting on the right is a resemblance of my mania.
