Rain

Rain

A Poem by Jasper
"

For a competition about rain...believe it or not...lol

"

Washing dirt from soulless streets

She comes, to chase away sins down gutters and drains

Diluting blood from battlefields

She fills craters with scarlet puddles of lost life

Cleansing this place, washed clean, anew

So we can start again tomorrow.

A great sentiment about rain that covers both its harshness and danger and its beauty and renewal. A great idea that is wonderfully executed! (Great choice to personify rain, by the way - it makes the poem that much more deep and mysterious.) Good job!

WOW! Your poem is so fresh and beautiful in form. I very much admire your writing. The emotional ties you demonstrate with rain, the mesh of thoughts you uncover and combine, along with the ending and how rain has been welcome throughout time in so many ways...this is breathtaking! All the best in the contest!
