Oklahoma City Nightmare

Oklahoma City Nightmare

A Poem by Jayden Ireton

I stand in awe at the reflecting pool

Years have passed, slow and cruel

One hundred and sixty eight died that day

Twisted metal and burning flesh,

Burning cars, blasted windows,

A collapsing building

Now nothing left

Just a pool and stone chairs

A marathon remembering every year

Terrorism costs more than money

It costs lives, it costs freedom,

A nation stands as one making a solemn vow

We shall never forget

this poem reminds us...we will never forget....one of my students is doing her research paper on the 9/11 tragedy ...and the argument that it might have been a conspiracy.

maybe...but again , something we will never forget..she was in fifth grade when it happened...

but she remembers.
