Leroy the LightningA Poem by JCharoAcrostic PoemLeroy, they use to say, was bound to snap someday. Instinctively influenced by knife fights and gun play. Gangster movies; Godfather, Carlito’s Way, Scarface He worshipped as if they trained him for disappointment, heartache. Truth be told, he lacked role models, he lacked influence Nesting his hate, fertilized egg. His seed of hope was impotent. In his event came thunder from the disaster abrupt Neon tape, broken families, Leroy’s wrists decorated in cuffs. Gravitated to the metal as if he were lightning that struck. © 2010 JCharo |
