Darkness of Heart

Darkness of Heart

A Poem by John Salamone

In this life, my purpose is niy.

It is as though i am not a lie.

My love was here and now its there.

You can find it anywhere.

To this life, I feel so blue.

To my greatest friend i owe a due.

Although short, life is great.

More like my heart is on the plate.

Cooked in the fire of hatred.

The blood a dark red.

The first cut hurts the most.

Pain that was not proposed.

Take my heart and with it flee.

But your memory is always with me.

You loved me and now you have gone.

I now have no where i belong.
