Touch of cold

Touch of cold

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Oranges and lemons
 Both trees heavy with fruit
  Waiting

Still green

Night finally has a chill

Lemons turn yellow,
 and the oranges...
   well they turn orange.

They needed the change.

Grow in the warmth.
 Turn sweet in the cold.

Changing before the freeze.

Soon the blossoms will spread again,
and fresh fruit will wait for a cold night.
