One AM

One AM

A Poem by Julia Ledo

One am

One AM is like an old friend you had a falling out with.
You'd like to never see them again, but you always just manage to spot them at the mall
And you're head aches and you feel uncomfortable
And you sit there and you wonder why you're seeing them again.
But One AM is not an old friend you had a falling out with
You know why you're seeing One AM over and over again
One AM is more like a nasty roommate
You'd rather be with anyone else, but you're stuck for now.
And every night you sleep in the same room knowing how unpleasant it is to see each other in the meantime
But you don't sleep. Because its One Am.
So maybe One AM isn't like a nasty roommate
Yet the sight is still unpleasant
And you'd rather close your eyes
But in the end you'll stay the whole night.
Because One Am is an ex who introduces you to their new girlfriend, her name is Two Am and she's a b***h.

yes, i am visited by 3am and 4 am as well...and none of us get along too well.

those sleepless nights---just fantasizing about closing our eyes and getting some rest.
