When Lightning Strikes

When Lightning Strikes

A Poem by Kayleigh
"

A short poem of the affect of Trigeminal Neuralgia.

"
The breeze is bitter in the air
I will have to stay inside today
I tell my partner as he ventures
Outside to meet my enemy
Leaving me alone to fight
The invisibile evil within me
I brace myself for the shock
Trying not to grit my teeth
Whilst nestling near the heat
Of the radiator to keep the
Monster at bay
The attack is coming
My face puffs in response
And I am consumed in agony
As I feel the jolt in my face
My flesh is burning
My body is shaking
They say that lightning
Never strikes twice
They were wrong

Author's Note

Kayleigh
This is literally my first poem in years, think of your criticisms, and answer me this, is it true? Is it nice? And is it necessary? If your answer is yes to all three questions, then go ahead.
P.S nice is a loosely used term.

Interesting piece. Made stronger by its truth. If you had not said what it was about, I would have opted for withdrawal, pick your poison and wait for the ending. Very well written.
