Summer Nights

Summer Nights

A Poem by Kelly
"

I wrote this in like January (same with Bittersweet)... can you tell I miss summer? :)

"
A soft breeze drifts through the warm air
The grass smells sweet
Soft under my body
The black sky goes on forever
Speckled with twinkling golden stars
Bright and beautiful
As far as the eye can see
My hair sprawls out under my head
I close my eyes
And I capture this moment in my mind
Like a message in a bottle
That I can open on some
Frosty December day
And remember how the breeze played across my face
The grass tickled my skin
The water thumped rhythmically on the wooden dock
And the crickets chirped softly in the woods
I’ll remember
And wait until the day
When can go back to that field by the lake
Under the open sky
On a warm summer night

Wow, this is wonderful, your description is so good I can picture the night clearly in my head. It reminds me of last summer, when I was laying in the grass staring at the stars, still living in Colorado. Nice memory, good job!
