Good Bye

Good Bye

A Poem by J. James Reider
"

(Black Book) (Based on actual events)

"

Summon your powers that I will thwart,

the guilt dug in my heart like a wart.

I will never be done with the battle that is,

you have no power on me that I can not seize.

You can handle my thoughts and make me feel fine,

although I can always reclaim what is mine.

Insanity prevails when you are in my life,

you carve up my brain with an invisible knife.

So called friends direct you my way,

save the war for another day.

In the end the battle must be done,

it does no good to just turn and run.

You think you're golden, I see your slack,

you think you're seam-less, I see your crack.

I came to you, I know it's true,

you follow me now when I'm blue.

Lately that seems to be alot,

and so I'm sure you're the result.

I'll take whatever you place in my path,

it will be you who feels my nasty wrath.

You blind my senses so I can't see,

then again that has always been your key.

You drain my wallet like an unseen sieve,

then you make it harder for me to live.

So now that your time is almost expired,

and it is my stein that I have retired,

stay for the show to see how the mighty will fall,

watch me slay this big b*****d known as alcohol.

Wow, this is very powerful, man! I have known so many people who've had to battle the bottle, tough to do.

I really enjoyed this writing. I too had a battle with alcohol and it caused me to reevaluate my life and the people I associate with. Good write and kudos to overcoming your battle with alcohol
