Serendipity

Serendipity

A Poem by J. James Reider
"

A thank you poem for two very special English teachers

"

Serendipity.

Come ON life!

Surprise me!

Get me OFF this strife.

Serendipity.

Mrs. Kiefer I thank you from my heart,

for helping me fall in love with English.

Ms. Sweeney I thank you from my heart,

for caring enough to not let me relinquish.....

My dream.

Of serendipity.

It seemed.

That serendipity,

was lost in theme.

Could serendipity become an oxymoron?

If I was always looking for love for instance....

And so all the time I had was poured on,

if I find love while searching for it in this circumstance?

Serendipity.

What I seek.

Every hour.

Every week.

Serendipity.

I wish for the opportunity to honor both of these souls...

To look into their eyes and give them both an honest "thank you"...

For helping me to discover love in language and reach my goals.

Even though they both MADE me read Poe, Dickens and Hemingway too.

Two teachers touched my life forever...

A hindsight serendipity.

Two teachers I will always remember.

Turned me on to serendipity.

I always remember them in September.

If I ever find the groove and can write a book....

One that will sell based upon reputation...

If I can ever get publishers to give me a look...

I already know who will get the dedication.

Serendipity.

Them and me.

Plain to see.

Forever be free.

Serendipity.

What a lovely tribute to your teachers. How often people forget those that inspired them along the way. Wonderfully penned. Very uplifting. Thank you.

Wow I really like this, showing your passion for those who have taught you not lessons in the school room but about life... teachers all to often go unnoticed for there work, kudos not for only writing a tribute to them but for doing it so very well.

This is a great piece. It's amazing how certain teachers can inspire us to go beyond the ordinary and instill within us a passion for certain things, like English. I really like the last stanza, that was a good way to end it. Thanks for sharing!
