My Baby

My Baby

A Poem by Leah Elisabeth
"

I actually didn't write this with a particular child in mind.

"

I stand here
watching you sleep
you are so beautiful
my child
my baby
I wish I could keep you
like this forever
holding you
feeding you
clothing you
always the same
I wish I could make you
depend on me forever
don't grow
don't change
never leave me

I know I can't make you
depend on me forever
you'll grow
you'll change
I know I can't keep you
like this forever
I can't
hold you
feed you
clothe you
things change
you are so beautiful
my child
my only

I'll miss you
I love you
I'll always remember
standing here
watching you sleep

The sadness of losing a child through growth, even when you're not the parent. This is a very thoughtful piece and I just love it :) All I can say is what you were saying is pretty straight forward, maybe some figurative langauage? But Straight-forward can be good too and I liked it here, I'm just not sure if that was your intention so I'm just offering suggestions :) Lovely though

Awwww

This is just adorable. I imagine that it's never easy for a parent to watch their child grow up and independent.
Sadly, we all must learn to let go and cherish the memories.

Adorable!
