Dancing on Delores

Dancing on Delores

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

we are what the matter is

"

Try and dispense... god damn it hurts to

To keep it near

The feeling, that feeling of that time

When we had the time

Extinguishing the fires of the young

Each drowning fear

That feeling it comes between the ears

Each passing year

These memories they burn away

Try and keep things we kept so safe

Each memory's death leaves its cold wake

Kept quiet in a chest so slowly we break

And I fear

The flesh, not to be feared

But something's lost

That was so dear

And now it's here

In this space and in this time

I can break from all pre set rhyme

Dancing on the corpse ashes

I come from home

And leave this place I will call this my home

Intuit what you see deduce it clear

Just what the matter is

Most likely you

Everywhere I go I make my home

So welcome home

I've missed you so

I've missed you dear

each memory's death leaves its cold wake. Yes it does. Powerful statement.

A good attempt at rhyming. It comes across as a little disjointed, but overall it was a fair read. The lack of punctuation makes it a little hard to follow, but it does make the piece flow.
