is like playing chess with a poodle

no matter how skilled you are

it's just gonna knock over the pieces

It's a little bit too early to make sense of that either way, but that might very well end up to be the case. It does unfortunately make me think of everyone who used to hold Mueller in high regard until he didn't indict anybody else, people who's overall judgement is based on whether an outcome satisfies their predetermined world view... a piano doesn't stop being a piano just because it doesn't like the music being played. That is working in the reverse as well, people who thought he was the devil but now think he's a saint because he didn't indict Trump. More specifically I wrote this after having an insane conversation with a fellow who swears the earth is flat and will go to his grave thinking that it's flat no matter how provably irrational his reasoning is.
