"Sunset Mourns a Mirthful Song"

"Sunset Mourns a Mirthful Song"

A Poem by L.C. Jarrette
"

"Death is not the enemy, it is indifference that should be more feared."

"
"Sunset Mourns a Mirthful Song"

T'was the saddest time of the year

When one is resting, one oh so dear

Yearning for the presence

that once was there

Reminiscing that white silky hair

But time will pass and time will heal

The heartaches and the pain we feel

Though none ever help but wonder

Where he journeyed in that deep slumber

The thrill, excitement and adventurous ride

In crossing that great divide

Then death would be a blessing

To whose heart is strong

The day the sunset mourns a mirthful song

This is the way I feel, as an older person living with chronic pain. I've lived a great life, I've climbed plenty of mountains, & I will go peacefully into that deep sleep, whenever it comes. I can feel a relaxed acceptance in your words. Good rhyme & rhythm, too.

Wow, this is deep! You get a tad wordy here and there in the musicality of the poem, but this is fantastic. Well done!

thank you for reading!
This poem reminds me of my ailing grandma. Although death is feared it is seen as the best solution for the end of agony. I have no advice besides for you to continue to produce amazing writing pieces such as this.
