The One In Her Heart

The One In Her Heart

A Poem by Manish90k

I walked to a shop to buy some rice,
the weather was chill and it felt so nice.
The owner seemed to have a quarrel with a girl;
she stood bargaining wearing an ear ring of pearl.
I noticed her voice to really be sweet;
a warm cozy sensation raised my heartbeat.
With a stroke of air she turned backed and walked,
on her mesmerizing face my eyes were just locked.
I murmured words whose meaning were unknown,
And that was the time when rung my phone.
"It’s late to cook.." mom groaned yelling at me,
I paid for the rice and hurried as fast as I could be.
In a short span of time, to home I made my way,
I didn’t know the reason why I was so disturbed that day.
The next day morning I saw her on 3rd floor,
I found it was her flat and wanted to know more.
She was new to the apartment from far place she came,
Very soon a good friend of my family hers became.
I started to grow feelings about her in my mind,
but fearing her anger I didn’t let her find.
We got so close roaming theaters and mall,
with her in love I deeply did fall.
She too seemed to like being in concern of mine,
and I put forward my proposal after a cup of wine.
It was my b'day I was drunk and lying on my bed,
I called her on phone and all my feelings I said.
When I got to my senses I felt so bad,
she confessed to me that a lover she had.
In the bright sunshine my world went fade,
to kill all my feelings a decision I made.
I knew she wasn’t mine and cried in pain,
yet wanted to know who was her lover, in vain.
She pleasingly said me to wait for a while,
and handed something wrapped in a cover with a smile.
"It’s his Photo" she said, turned back and left,
holding it in hand I sat there and wept.
I opened it with lots of questions in mind,
It had a mirror with notice "Look in and find".
Oh God! I couldn’t believe, it was so foolish on my part,
because it was me THE ONE IN HER HEART...
