A Journey of the Mind

A Journey of the Mind

A Poem by mathiasthom

Don't expect anyone to read
anything penned,
or typed from this hand

Insecurities and self doubt
alone and without,
following a difficult route

Learning from repetitive mistakes
set in motion
by a hypercritical world

Maybe a fleeting word
released in fractured moments
transforms into useless vapor

Since 1982, staying true
to myself, like self help
available for those who choose

Moved to record
by my own accord
these colossal emotions

Might at any given moment
cascade over this body
sweeping away the familiar

Into territories unknown
compelled to roam,
a journey of the mind
