Loss of Cosmos

Loss of Cosmos

A Poem by Mohit Gautam
"

A Tribute to our Hawking

"

"What's Universe? Is it heaven?"

The inquisitiveness of the child,

Aged eight or seven

Watched you on a Discovery show

Like every typical Indian Kid,

Young farmer of black field,

All set to hoe

You, immotile like universe

But an enlightened runnel

Rowing us to infinite ocean

Of space, dark(matter) and time tunnel

Expanding Universe,

Gravity's relation with time,

Astoundingly adventurous

Which shook my Spine

"A Brief History of time"

Or "The Great Design"

A part of your wisdom

For the mankind

We, the crew of the Space Shuttle

And you, the Captain on Wheel

On an endless journey

Of imagination-cum-reality to be steal

Ready to be steal

Are the words, that were not spoken

From your mind to ours

No intermediate (voice) taken

Sigh!!

In the limitless journey of curiosity,

Cruel limited life proved to be monstrosity

You opted to make us self reliant

Left us abandoned. Why Supergiant?

Became a supernova, once a big star

But still radiating from pole to pole afar

Poor Universe!!!

The cosmos lost its cosmos

Neither Einstein nor Bose,

Improbable toss, it's a big loss

Surely! Gonna miss u, Stephen Hawk(ing)
