Once Upon A Time..

a reverse narrative

No colon. No hyphen.
A blind loop..
and the fullstop
preceding the beginning
to the account of an ended tour.
The final dot, its missing fervor

No new story to lend.
A title
but for the end,
marking the halted start
to a silent version:
'Sinking Lotus vis-à-vis Austere Heart'

For I

A bizzare encounter
a traditional report
another feuilleton to his dossier
farewell to her crumbled petals
mercilessly drenched in elixir

Some remaining specks of slime
an image of lotus slipped from grasp
inking his nib, a metal
Uncorroded. Unpierced. Indifferent.
Unmoved to departure, the final gasp.

For II

A homicide, self designed
in its blurring expansion
from changing convexity,
whorls dissolving
around twisted focus.

Selfless love, self betrayal
predictable painting
hidden portrayal
amid luminosity of the enticing horror.

An elegy for virtual selfdom
prior approaching from the mirror.

For III

A jamais vu
reflective tale
with ruddy sheen
of washed off colours
leaves in faded green.

A void
wide, stretching across
opened seams
drained of
vanishing ink, devoured words
threading the wrinkled flimsy.

Dangling but
from its edge
the collective locus
a lone phrase
eternally etched on the shoreline
vaguely echoing

Once upon a time...

Author's Note

This is more of an experiment. Trying to portray a story in reverse direction through the verse. I , II , III refer to the protagonist, the foil character and the reader respectively of the story within the poem. Reviews about this experimental write and its form with constructive criticism for improvement would be regarded and relished.
