Mayday Queen
Isn’t smiling
Her float dark
With gloom
Heart
Lost in
Jersey
On a Mayday float
Flowers were in bloom
But her heart felt gloom
Scared to take the leap
Believed all your lies
Fell deep within
your spell
And her heart
Ended up in … well
Broken in a million pieces
Broken so far beyond repair
Her innocent heart ripped and torn
By your love’s unrequited sharp thorn
However, her future will not set in stone
She will again walk in the afternoon’s afterglow
And feel the suns warmth and cool rain upon her face
Nevermore will she be this wilted wall flower in a lonely
vase on another float in one more Mayday parade when
the sun glows You will see her happy and smiling and
holding onto another’s hand You will then remember the
loyal sweet love that you tossed in my direction Then your
tears will fall like rain on that glorious Mayday and you
will then Regret the day you broke her heart and see me
with the precious gift you lost Because of your unfaithful
deceit; friend you won’t be laughing then when it is my
lips kissing my beautiful Mayday Queen as fireworks
explodes on that day as bright as a solar eclipse
