First Christmas

First Christmas     Excerpt from IS HE MESSIAH? Messianic Prophecies Revealed! Page 64 And angel appeared to a virgin mild Be not afraid you’ll bear the Lord’s child The angel appeared to Joseph in a dream Make Mary your wife, things aren’t as they seem To be the Messiah the prophets foretold For all who have faith young and old A decree was sent out throughout the land Mary and Joseph had to travel far across the sand Joseph couldn’t find a place to stay So in a lowly stable on a bed of hay Mary gave birth to the Messiah that night She brought into the world the One True Light There appeared in the sky a wondrous star Wise men and shepherds viewed from afar The star came to rest in Bethlehem town While shepherds with their flocks gathered round The heavenly host rejoiced, and the angels did sing Behold, born this night is the King of kings Wrapped in swaddling clothes, asleep in a manger For this newborn child there was much danger The Wise Men traveled across the sand To Bethlehem from a foreign land To worship this holy child so small To tell of His birth to one and all Herod sent the wise men to bring him news of the child With hopes to destroy this infant mild An angel appeared to Joseph again in a dream Flee into Egypt from Herod’s murderous scheme Joseph took the child and Mary by night And hid the Babe in Egypt from Herod’s sight Remaining in Egypt until an angel did appear The angel said, go home there is nothing to fear Jesus was born thousands of years ago far away His birthday is still celebrated in our hearts today He gives hope to the hopeless, and to the darkness Light Our souls are saved because of that first Christmas Night Author: Nancy Lee Shrader By nannalee   © 2008 nannalee (All rights reserved)
