Thanksgiving

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Thanksgiving

We sing a song to grandma’s house

Each Thanksgiving Day

Our voices ring out

Each mile along the way

No longer over the river

And through the woods

We travel the interstate

With mom’s baked goods

The horse is not there

Our new direction tutor

Found in Dad’s new car

Is a tiny talking computer

Some things haven’t changed

From year to year

Roasted turkey and pumpkin pie

With Grandma’s love and good cheer
