Haiku Saint Paddy's DayA Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
Haiku Saint Paddy’s Day On Saint Paddy’s Day Leprechauns hide pots of gold At the rainbow’s end Follow rainbow’s trail There you’ll find those twisty trees And black pots full of gold Trickster games ahead Calling all Leprechauns Time for hide and seek Ha ha hee hee ho Whimsically Leprechauns Join in trickster game Magic fills the air Locals running to and fro Rainbow treasure hunt Leprechaun magic Sprinkle sleeping dust on heads Become sleeping guards Hunters fast asleep Wake on next Saint Paddy’s Day Year lost in magic Try to beat the odds Do beware, but try again Leprechauns giggle Ha ha hee hee ho ho Pots are safe another year Luck of the Irish
