Your Love I Feel In Colors
A Poem by
Nancy Lee Shrader
Y o u r L o v e I F e e l I n Co l o r
I feel your love in black and white
And sometimes in shades of gray
But mostly your lov e is felt in colors
Through this life along the way
In the morning I feel you in violet
At noontime , sometimes pink or blue
At quitting time purple is your color
Moonlit nights I feel you in many a hue
Green on a summer’s afternoon
Burnt orange in the fall of the year
Periwinkle on beautiful starry nights
Peachy on days of good cheer
Lilac in springtime
Deep blue when winter winds blow
Red on Christmas and Valentine’s Day
White with the falling of snow
All pastels during the Easte r Parade
Brown and tan with hopping bunnies
Orange on All Hallows Eve
Crimson when you’re reading the funnies
Mellow yellow curled up by the fire
Aqua down on the seashore
Raspberry when watching a movie
Blue horizons when you walk out the door
Golden in the evening twilight
Turquoise when we’re dancing in the rain
Forest green when you take me hunting
A full rainbow when we visited Spain
You love has shown me many colors
A whole spectrum that is for sure
But mostly the feeling of happiness
And a love that is always an alure

Our lives are colored by many experiences, but love is the most beautiful. I know you must have spent a great deal of time working all these wonderful shades of love into such a colorful presentation. Your poem is a delight to read and to view, Nancy. Sharon
