Haiku Jester

Haiku Jester

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Jester

I heard in the News

Blond tried to take her own life

Shot up her mirror

Blond dyed her hair black

Believed it would make her smart

She still failed the test

Blond dyed her hair red

To make Christmas come sooner

Surprise! Trick or Treat

Can you tell I’m blond

By my silly Haiku jokes

But I’m not really

I’m a bottle blond

Not the ditsy blond at all

Since the gray hair came

So let’s try again

Before I dye those gray roots

I’ll tell some smart jokes

Invited to dine

Offered to do the dishes

My host called his dog

Dogs washing dishes

I said this I want to see

That dog came drooling
