Haiku Moon Hits Your Eye

Haiku Moon Hits Your Eye

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Moon Hits Your Eye

Sparkle in your eye

Moonbeams glow, eyes glaze over

Love is in the air

Across sandy beach

Lovers stroll under the moon

Love glows in the heart

Hearts of love unite

Underneath a summer moon

Kisses fill the night

Marriage plans are made

As the moon is on the rise

Dreams of wedded bliss

Baby’s nighttime moon

Smiles down on baby sleeping

Sweet dreams in the night

Young child sings moon’s song

In sing-song poetic rhyme

Seeking God’s blessing

Boy and girl meet

Young love blooming with warm glow

Moon song sung again

Young couple in love

Life’s cycle comes full circle

Under golden moon

A beautiful poem. I loved how you described the idea of life going round in a circle - a traditional idea, but you gave it new life! I also like the way you mention the moon in every verse; the moon is always there, during the whole of our life.
A great write!
