Haiku Bleeding Heart

Haiku Bleeding Heart

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Bleeding Heart

Under golden moon

My bleeding heart mentality

Moonbeams obstructed

Do not see the glow

Moon blocked by a darkened heart

I’m writhing in pain

My bleeding heart cries

Please turn back the hands of time

Tourniquet needed

Bind up the wounded

Let this heart feel love again

Permit its healing

Not the only one

There’s bleeding hearts everywhere

Crying out in pain

Many join their hearts

Misery loves company

Healing is found here

Tell my painful tale

In this group of bleeding hearts

Mine isn’t that bad

There’s always one there

A bleeding heart worse than mine

Light is coming through

I see the moonbeam

Once blocked are now shining through

Healing has begun

Yes love finds a way

Bright moonbeams stops the bleeding

Heart has become whole
