Haiku Love Letters in the Sand

Haiku Love Letters in the Sand

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Love Letters in the Sand

First love on the beach

Write love letters in the sand

Sandy sweet nothings

Write I love you there

Sand castles capture moments

Of hearts intertwined

Pat Boone sings of love

On summer sandy beaches

Letters in the sand

Pass the time away

Swirling fingers in the sand

Speaking words of love

Grainy is the sand

Love letters bring desire

A song in the heart

Splashing in the surf

Sandy moments we have found

Written in the sand

White sandy beaches

Sparkle underneath the sun

Glimmer, I love you

Hearts bake in the sun

Two lovers shimmering words

Sand speaks of their love

Waves wash them away

Words fade and then disappear

But still in the heart

Sand on the seashore

Waxes and wanes with the moon

Moves on with the tide
