Poetry Exercise #1, Take 5

Poetry Exercise #1, Take 5

A Poem by Naomi Bloom
"

A poem modeled after William Carlos Williams' poem The Red Wheelbarrow.

so much depends upon

ominous dark alley electronic intro

the deep, penetrating

bass line

bewitching repetition

let me lay my eyes

syncopated heraldic trumpets

Author's Note

Naomi Bloom
A writing exercise for a poetry class.

We wrote with this template in mind, a poem by William Carlos Williams:

so much depends
upon

a red wheel
barrow

glazed with rain
water

beside the white
chickens.

This is the fifth of my many attempts to imitate this form.

This poem is based on The Battlecry by Metric, which is an amazing song.

This one is very cool-love the musical imagery. I especially liked the last stanza:

syncopated heraldic trumpets

entering suddenly
