Figuero

Figuero

A Poem by N.Sevilla
"

About a shadow

"
Figuero, my silhouette,
my self plastered on the walls,
the mime who mimics my every step,
who expands when sunset falls.
Dance with me, my Figuero,
when moonlight bathes my skin.
Dance with me, one not of flesh
but still remains my kin.

The night's music slowly wafts in:
this shall be our tune.
The sweet mourning melody
warns us light shall be here soon.
It is night when you unravel
to touch all shadows of the earth,
but the day reminds you, Figuero,
I am the place of your birth.

I am not your mother
that you may grow wings and fly.
We are bound by misty threads
so we never say goodbye.

Figuero, my companion,
the protector of my stride,
your ever-changing shades of black
that no light nor dark could hide.
Always hold me up forever
from your humble place
and wrap your arms around me
when the coffin lid seals my face.

I really like this! Excellent, the way you use 'Figuero, my silhouette' at the beginning of the poem...it sounds wonderful, the entire thing.

Thank you!
You need to stop being so wonderful at this whole writing thing, it's making other people feel bad. ;)
