shifting winters

shifting winters

A Poem by plainme

walking along the road, surrounded by fields covered with snow
the white powder,  accents the reflected moonlight so low

her words are clear, an antidote to my actions
my mind is poisoned, speeds up wrong reactions

I can’t see things clear, the fog blocks out the truth
should I speak out my mind, or protect her from my youth

I seem a fool, and make mistakes, which, I can’t explain
lose patience, lose will, my words slur and I seem insane

my mind can’t be pure as snow, after all I’ve been through
I change it too often, I’m left with nothing, only to again find you

lose faith, lose hope, lose any kind sight
I want to find myself with you, even if I have to fight

ship of relations, with only one room
the bed is made up, for our love to bloom

so where do I go, from here on till later
do I follow her tracks, or fulfil wishes of a traitor

my love is a ghost, only appears whenever she’s near
the only love I once felt, the one she gave back without any fear

how can’t I love, someone who needs me
how can I love, someone who’s already lost at sea

if I can be replaced, go on, leave my ship
she can’t, she won’t, with her tight addictive grip

how can I say, I’m in love with you
if I’m far away, and you are too

but I am and this is how it ends
see you tomorrow, let’s not forget we’re friends

A very dark poem, of someone who lost his love but it's still doomed to be friends with her and nothing more...interesting message, great job
