Dance of the Fire

Dance of the Fire

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

Dance of the Fire

As we fleetingly flit with pendulums of fire,
the dance begins.

Soft-stepped, yet rapidly moving, we fly across
crackled glass.

Outstretched cool fingertips set supple skin
impossibly ablaze.

Deep, inviting lips curl into a smile as we grow
closer still.

The loving flames tease as they flare out
against us.

We raise a gentle firm hand, and beckon them
to soothe,

But they leave the soothing to us - we make our
own burns

As a servant to a master, we obey our orders, and begin to leave
our marks.

Dark masses of hair flow back as the hidden is revealed, and the
fun begins.

Flame-lit skin burns happily as cool fingertips and fiery lips make
their claim.

As we smile in relaxed ecstasy, the bright tendrils retract again, and
we separate.

Soft-stepped, yet rapidly moving, we fly across
crackled glass.

As we fleetingly flit with pendulums of fire,
the dance continues.

I actually liked the way your words 'danced like fire' across the page.
Different and enjoyable. Congratulations on winning a
"Poetry of Love" award. Well done.
