Wrong Number

Wrong Number

A Poem by Kristine

She told the boy but it was as if he didn't care.

He acted as if she wasn't even there.

All she wanted was for them to be together,

but just for once, didn't want to wait forever.

The boy eventually laughed in her face

and he had the guts to tell her she was a disgrace.

The girl ran home and stayed out of sight,

for she realized he wasn't the boy she was with the other night.

Something was different and she didn't know why

but whatever it was, really made her cry.

It was one of the best nights she'd had in a while

but to him she was just another number he could dial.

great piece of work! my assumption from the title was totally shattered after reading. the concept of relationships broke down to the numbers one can dial is superb. enlightening and raw the passion chaffs through the screen.
