Thank you for breaking my heart
You taught me to take my heart
Away from my sleeve
for fear of it falling to pieces
thank you for the special treatment
for you opened my eyes
To all the good things in life

Thank you for walking away
it taught me that someone better-
always comes along

Thank you for loving me all the same
it showed me the power of loving myself

Thank you foremost for the memories
am adding them to my mental album
and keeping them with me for a life time

Until they fade away for lack of space
