Dichotomous

Dichotomous

A Poem by PriyaKavina

two identical thoughts
developed in isolation
on two different hemispheres
identical in structure
yet paradoxical in course

two identical thoughts
fueled by very different greeds
and executed,
one with zealousy and one with jealousy,
continuing to either sculpt or destruct self-conjured concepts

two identical thoughts
discriminated by different hates
create a revolution and
cast an unknown wave of tomorrow
on varying amplitudes of today

two identical thoughts
in one discordant mind
attempt for theraputics
but confide in poetics,
for a whole can never understand dichotomy

I agree with William, and I think that it could go even further and represent how sometimes people get so consumed with their thoughts and can feud. Even when the line, "in one discordant mind" this may refer to one "umbrella" or category where different thoughts/opinions may emerge. The ending is very satisfying and strong.

very rich use of word, high command of the english language,
sturdy & robust illustration of duality.

I enjoyed reading this poem. I like how you repeated the phrase "two identical thoughts;" it really helped put an emphasis on the contrast in this poem. Great job. I look forward to reading more of your works.
