Cry

Cry

A Poem by Shawn Purcell
"

A poem I wrote for a friend in a time of need...

"

It’s all too much to bare

When the world is without mercy

When the pain is to deep to breathe

Look to me to be you strength.

Just stay the course

And swear it all gets better

When nothing ever changes

And that’s just how life seems to be

I’ll carry you across the raging waters of your mind.

I’ll carry you as long as you need a shoulder to cry on.

When will life begin?

When will it all be over?

Will fairness blow your way?

How long must you wait

For all the things you wanted

That got up and walked away

To find their space in heaven

While you fight to find your place.

I’ll carry you across the raging waters of your mind.

I’ll carry you all night. I’ll carry you home.

these lines took my mind away to a distant place making me alive with the scene of the poem :
"For all the things you wanted

To find their space in heaven

While you fight to find your place.

I’ll carry you across the raging waters of your mind.

I’ll carry you all night. I’ll carry you home. "
