Hitchhiker

Hitchhiker

A Poem by Rogerh
"

Pain comes along for the ride

"
Hitchhiker

Life has pushed me into the deep end of the pool

Preordained to always be the one to play the fool

With a heart that is filled with nothing left inside

Feeling like a hitchhiker just along for the ride

Just to be dropped off on the side of the road

When it is time for you to lighten your load

Meandering my way through the fading meadow

Until I find myself without a place I can go

Feelings of green and feelings of blue

No feelings for me but the feelings I have for you

As the pain hitchhikes its way through my vain

It feels just like all the blood has left my brain

In my life there have been masses of lefts but not one right

I can always seem to find dark in the brightest of light

Now as I travel on down that long long road I must go

I’ve been taken by strangers and friends I do not even know
