My Final Gift for You

My Final Gift for You

A Poem by rosesofgrey

If love were a number, I would give you mine

If love were water, I would give you the lake where we met

If love were music, I would give you the mixtape from our first dance

If love were a letter, I would give you a dictionary

If love were food, I would give you pizza from the parlour down the street

If love were a place, I would give you the sofa in your room

If love were a time, I would give you the summer of junior year

If love were a person, I would give you myself

But love is your happiness, so I give you my absence
