Water's Edge

Water's Edge

A Poem by Ruben Wainui

Watched the moon from water's edge
Where the waves they laid to rest
In pools of moonlight on the shore
Shining for the coming dawn

The roads we built across the land
Had faded in the changing sands
Beneath the tide so pure and cold
We dreamt until our dreams grew old

And when the fire of our minds
Had dulled and burnt right through our time
We rose and staggered up the beach
Just beyond the ocean's reach

I love this so much. I love the ocean, and this is a beautiful poem that fits how I feel perfectly. This is beautiful.

Excellent! I really like this! It's short, grabs, and hold's one's attention.

This is really a beautiful poem with such depth. I love the imagery and the flow that just fits so naturally throughout the poem.
