Walking Away

Walking Away

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

I'm blinded by your radiant dawn,
I know now that I'm your pawn.
When you lied it broke my heart,
You've made this game into an art.
I'm packing my bags to go,
You won't convince me to stay, no!

I'm done with all the drama and crying,
You couldn't tell that I was trying.
If you try to follow me into the night,
The wind will push you back with all it's might.

I'm not listening to your empty words,
I'm not following your lead, your slurs.
Do not follow me into the night,
My future is truly bright.

I'm sure you'll spread lies about me,
You drive me up your verbal tree.
But I'll pay them no mind,
I'm truly done with your kind.

If you truly want to be nice to me,
Then be gone and leave me be!
I'm tired and done with all I see,
It just was not meant to be.
I know now that you were evil and false!

Where I go you cannot follow,
I leave and walk into the hollow.
I take everything I own,
On the wind I have been blown.

See me leaving don't you stare,
For I do not really care!
