No Vilification

No Vilification

A Poem by Satish Verma
"

Do you think milk? The medicine,

"
Do you think milk?
The medicine,
had already become
a bromide.

One benign question,
opened the potential
of conflict. The fan-
tasy? Golden knife?

Devastating me. Car-
essing the dark, did
you stop by the moon
to say hello?

Unmasking the secret―
of immortality? Ephebic.
You were always lying
to yourself.

Now, I don't cry over spilled milk but...
This was interesting. I could try to assess this logically all day but I won't get any where. The ambiguity adds to the charm. I could imagine this being part of some sort of short, abstract film or a part of a movie that's repeated to show significance to the plot. I did enjoy the mystery of trying to figure this out. The line "Golden knife?" seems to stand out to me for some reason.
