Angels: Swansong

I seen angels in the sky

With wings crafted from the stars

Sweet voices singing hymns rang out

As they carried you from this world

I have pictures from the days

When smiles were always on our faces

Only in the pictures do they remain

I wish I could have one more chance

Just to hold your hand again

Just one more chance

To open my mouth and let out the words

I’m still holding in

I wanted you to know...

I wanted to tell you how...

But now it's all too late

Now that you’re gone away...

I seen angels in the sky

I seen the tears that they cried

Sweet voices singing hymns

As they held you in their arms

I have never stopped...

I have always thought...

I see you every night

In my dreams

I wanted you to know...

I wanted to tell you how...

But now it's all too late

Now that you’re gone away...

I seen the angels rise up high

Voices fading in the night sky

I close my eyes tight

Trying to stem the tears

I wanted you to know...

I wanted to tell you how...

But now it's all too late

Now that you’re gone away...

I wanted you to know

I never stopped thinking of you

I wanted to tell you how

Sorry I was for the words I said

But now it's all too late

Now that you’re gone away
