Doorway to the Unconcious

Doorway to the Unconcious

A Poem by Shannon Carinne Sparks
"

This poem is about personal responsibility and accountability.

"

The Winds of change eat away the hands of time
Watching as their minds unwind
They drift from dark reality
To the moon's enlightened insanity
The portal opens a transient doorway
Between space and time hidden away
The blackness becomes bright
With the transendental aura of sight
The textures of sound become clear
As lucid truth becomes near
That reality is not what it seems
She makes her stand eyes blanketed
By starry dreams

Knowledge is a step closer to a death-loop
And ages farther from the truth
The closer the outcome seems to be
The farther you are from reality
People often look in obscure places
To find answers bright and bold in front of their faces
Instead of seeking honesty's bold words
Society expects crafty lies to emerge
When they sleep and their dreams seem somewhat jaded
They wonder how they've been manipulated
Not understanding where to find the cause
They blame their misfortunes on their God

What a revelation it would be
For everyone in the world to truly see
For a society with sympathy to understand
The troubles and the woes of his fellow man
That each individual on this planet
Is responsible for everything that's on it
And it could only be a better place
With acts of kindness mercy and grace
That each of us has a choice
To stand strong and raise our voice
To do the best with what we've been given
Without expecting others to change how their living
