What About the Future?

It's coming soon, the future, that is.

A world
Alive with sound
As thick
And soft as velvet
A city full of whispers

The streets
Are bought by lies
So sleek
And smoothly spoke
They rest on the tongue

Government
Is blinded
A cave
A deepened hole
To hide the secrets

Children
No longer innocent
A casm
Devoid of love
Will destroy all

Very dark, kinda scary, exceptionally telling. I think you do a better job doomsaying with this poem than those standing on the street corners with the "The End Is Nigh" signs. I think you have, perhaps, struck a chord of fear that lies in all of us who reside in society, but want to ignore.

Just one question: when the end comes...will there be ice cream?

A lovely poem, I like the first two lines of the second stanza.

Oh my friend you bring tears to my eyes,its every where like this
Life is full of lies,its those who has the lead today,the liars,the cheaters
those all with greed,,those in power are blind,they will hide their secrets
Children are never innocent like before,Adults are so evil like they ve never been before
I swear its like a disease and its taking on infecting all,to take all purity we once knew
to take all beauty from this earth,so only ugliness resides..its the new world
