The Trouble of Youth

The Trouble of Youth

A Poem by Shadowbomb

The lone wolf prowls,
Watching, waiting,
Like an illegitimate royal,
Wantingr an abdicating

People are the same,
willing you to do your best,
but there is always a sneaking shadow,
that will never leave you rest.

I speak ,of course, of jealousy, envy, fear and doubt,
of never want to be the one that constantly stands out,
you may have an obscure talent nobody knows about,
sometimes it is easier to never let it sprout.

Life is daunting, so follow a common career,
where results are all that matter,
to determine the rest of your years,
Your dream, probably end in tatters

As was said by a two faced man,
"you're not your job, you're not how much money
you have in the bank, you're not the car you drive"
my question being, what are you then sonny?
