In the Sky

In the Sky

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

A poem showing the different phases of light that travel across the sky.

"

In the dark of silent night,

Stars are shining, full and bright.

Crescent moon of silver hue,

Coats the sea of darkest blue.

In the glow of morning light,

Birds are chirping, wings in flight.

Apple tree atop the mound,

Whispers secret, ancient sounds.

In the highest, brightest noon,

Clouds are drifting, parting soon.

Radiant beams from up above,

Dazzle us with pure, sweet love.

In the fading light of eve,

Night completes its shadow-weave.

Sunlight of the purest kind,

Falls from universal mind.

In the dark of silent night,

Stars are shining full and bright.

Swirling mists of mystery,

Spin and dance to what they please.

This is my favorite amongst your works I have read thus far. Though I often think that when I read one which is new to me. :) You did indeed paint a vivid picture here with your words, and the meter, flow, and rhyme work so nicely together to create this wonderful piece.

WOW! This is a brilliant (literally) write! The imagery you've painted enraptured my mind's eye from beginning to end, what a journey it was indeed! The progressive flow created for me an ethereal feel.

After traveling full cycle, I must say - I LOVED this piece! Brilliant!

You always find the right words to describe something, and there is a nice rhyme and rhythm. I like the line "Swirling mist of mystery," it's hard to explain why...

A circular poem that ends on a slightly different note than it began. My only suggestion is to take the word "dead" out - there is nothing "dead" about the images you create; everything is alive~
