Voices of Summer

A Poem by Silvia - Scribo, Ergo Sum!
"
... in nights like this
"

Voices of Summer

The voices of a summer night sing me their lazy blues
of heat-whipped, sun-scorched days
and golden mellow afternoons ...

of childhood dreams of endless holidays
and teenage fantasies of breathless love and soulful lovers ...

of chats and coffee in the breezy shade
and wine-saluted blushing sunsets ...

of fado floating on the fleeting light
and glow worms waltzing off into the night
like Queen Titania's fairies gathered for the ball ...

The voices of a summer night sing me their lullaby
with promises of days where YOU are by my side
and nights that need not hear my sighs at empty pillows ...

The voices of a summer night
they listen to MY lazy blues ...
of lonely nights and empty, wasted days
of gathered grief and love on sheets of borrowed time ...

The voices of a summer night
they whisper
soon
soon
SOON
....
